Tumor markers are substances made by cancerous cells or your body's normal cells in response to cancer. This profile measures the level of AFP, CEA, PSA, CA 125, CA 19-9, CA 15-3, hCG and EBV VCA-IgA tumor markers to detect the presence of liver, ovarian, choriocarcinoma, colon, rectum, pancreas, breast, lung, nose and throat cancer. If the blood test detects a tumor marker, it does not always indicate the presence of cancer. Thus, it is important to discuss your results with a healthcare provider.
